Roasting Hot Dogs and Marshmallows

A great summer family activity is roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over a fire. It leads to great bonding time and hotdogs and marshmallows are both so good cooked over an open flame.

Supplies you’ll need for this activity include a fire pit, wood, BBQ, lighter, cooking sticks, hotdogs, hotdog buns, marshmallows and any condiments that you want to put on your hotdog such as ketchup, mustard, relish and onions for example.

Firstly you’ll need to put wood into the fire pit and your child can help doing this. Your child can also go around and collect sticks and have them put them in the fire pit as well. Now you can take the bbq lighter and start the fire.

It’s now time to start roasting! Ask your child what they would like to roast and have them put what they want onto the cooking stick. Now assist them in roasting by helping them hold the cooking stick over the fire until what they are cooking is done.

It’s now time enjoy a hotdog or marshmallow or both!
