Pizza Rolls
Pizza is a favourite children’s food. Kids will be happy to make their own pizza together with their parents and they will have a lot of fun because pizza looks different today.
First, we will make homemade pizza dough.
Ingredients:
1 cup (250 ml) warm water
1 tsp (5 ml) instant yeast
1 tsp (5 ml) sugar
1 tsp (5 ml) salt
1 row egg
Preparation:
Step 1: In a bowl, combine the water, yeast and sugar. Let stand until the mixture foams on top, about 5 min.
Step 2: Combine the flour, salt, egg and yeast mixture. Kneed the dough for a few minutes on a floured surface to prevent sticking.
Step 3: Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a wrap. Let the dough rise for about 30 min in warm and draft-free area.
Step 4: Cut the dough in half or 3 smaller pieces.
Pizza Rolls Ingredients:
Homemade pizza dough
1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
½ cup mini pepperoni or meat or sausage you like, or you can make the vegetarian pizza.
1 tsp dried or chopped fresh basil leaves
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup sliced mushroom
2 cups shredded mozzarella
½ cup finely grated Parmesan.
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Roll every peace of dough into a rectangle. Dust pizza dough with flour if needed.
Step 3: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each rectangle. Sprinkle cheeses, basil, onion. Top with mushroom and pepperoni (your choice).
Step 4: Roll the dough up, starting from one long edge, to form a long sausage.
Step 5: Using a sharp knife, cut the dough sausage into 1.5 – 2 cm thick slices.
Step 6: Place slices on a parchment paper lined tray.
Step 7: Bake at 400F for 30 min or until golden.
